During Ubisoft’s E3 presser we got our first look at the previously announced Watch Dogs Legion.

You can check out the video below to see some alpha gameplay of a number of different characters that highlighted the game’s permadeath and more.

The demo began with character Ian Robshaw, who is like something from Green Street. Ian, who confirmed he was Ded-Sec, had a stroll around the in-game London before getting into a scrap and then turning bloody invisible at some point. After a car chase, Robshaw died; this revealed that the game has permadeath.

The player then chose another character: Helen Dashwood. This 70 year old woman then kicked the s*** out of some guards. Incredible. We have decided in the office that we only want to play as Helen. She’s the best.

Then the demo jumped to another character called Naomi Brooke, a trained assassin, who was walking around Camden market before hopping on top of a massive, pilotable drone, in order to get to the location of a character called Jimmy who had been taken captive by some people that Naomi didn’t seem too happy with. After Naomi freed Jimmy, a message popped up onscreen that said he was now a playable character.

Clint Hocking, the creative director of Watch Dogs Legion, then stepped onto the stage to say that the game is set in a post-Brexit London. London is a surveillance state now, but a resistance group is growing in the city to fight back. He confirmed that you can recruit anyone in the game to your group, and then play as them. He added that every character is fully-voiced with their own backstories.

This sounds super ambitious. Look, just watch the video below to get a better idea of what to expect when the game launches March 6, 2020.
