Koei has announced that it plans to release Warriors Orochi 2 across Europe this September for PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360.

In Warriors Orochi 2 a new group of warriors must join forces in order to defeat a mysterious evil alliance and prevent the Serpent King from rising. Character choice will be plentiful, with a line-up of over 90 playable characters from both the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors franchises, plus new characters from Chinese and Japanese history.

The game will take place after events of the first title, with the main Story mode featuring storylines for the kingdoms of Wu, Wei, and Shu, and the Samurai Warriors. A new Orochi storyline looks back to the first series of wars to expose some of the Serpent King’s secrets.

A new Dream mode will also include an original storyline different to that found in the Story mode.

Also new is a two-player Versus mode, which will feature four game types including Tag Team matches that pit fighters in head-to-head combat.

The popular Team Battle System returns for the sequel, enabling players to switch between fighters in order to rest and restore the Life Meters and Musou Gages of two members of the fighting unit.

Warriors Orochi 2 is scheduled for release across Europe in September 2008 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2.
