Developed at Digital Extremes, the same team that made the iffy Pariah, WarPath is a Sci-fi themed first-person shooter offering both single-player and multiplayer modes for Xbox and PC. Three races wish to settle in a virtual Eden found in the outmost reaches of the galaxy, but not wanting to share conflict is inevitable.
You can choose to play as any of the three races in a battle for supremacy, either offline up against 32 bots, or online with support for up to 16 players. The game features Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Assault modes, and 25 levels in which to battle. Make use of four different vehicles and eight weapons, including the Wolverine, Tyrant and Vibro Blade.
“With ‘Warpath,’ we wanted to get back to the essence of what a multiplayer FPS should be: fast action, great graphics, and most importantly, fun gameplay,” said Jon Walsh, CEO, Groove Games. “‘Warpath’ lets you run faster, jump higher, and fly farther than any other FPS out there,” continued Walsh. “We pushed the limits as far as we felt we could and feel that it really paid off.“
WarPath is scheduled for release in North America in the spring, but no official announcement has been made regarding a European release.
