Warhammer: Vermintide 2 will be released for the PC on March 8, developer Fatshark Games has announced. The vermin-slaying sequel is also heading to PS4 and Xbox One this year, though a date for the console version has yet to be confirmed.

Fatshark revealed the date during a livestream last night, which you can catch up on here if you happen to have missed it. Fans can also pre-order Vermintide 2 on Steam now for the reduced price of £20.69.

‘Being passionate fans of the Warhammer IP, we’ve always wanted to create a Warhammer sequel that both stayed true to the beautifully dark atmosphere of the world but also brought new ideas and experiences for players. It’s been years of work but on March 8th we look forward to joining forces with players everywhere to defend Helmgart from evil,’ commented Fatshark CEO, Martin Wahlund.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 sees the five heroes teaming up once more to take on an even bigger threat, with the Skaven having united with the blood-thirsty chaos army. The sequel ups the ante in just about every area, with more blood, dismembrement, and a host of new distractions such as Contracts and a more flexible career path offering plenty to sink your blade into.

To top it all off, Fatshark confirmed last year that Vermintide 2 will not be adding any paid loot boxes into the mix. Phew!
