Owlcat Games’ has rapidly released a massive update for the studio’s latest Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader expansion Lex Imperialis. The second expansion for the incredibly dense CRPG, Lex Imperalis adds a brand-new class in the form of the Arbites officer Solomorne Anthar.
As the second expansion for Rogue Trader, Lex Imperialis is worked into the game’s main campaign in a fantastic way. In Act One, Solomorne turns up with his trusty Cyber Mastiff, but you weren’t able to actually have him join your crew until quite late in the game, which Owlcat has not changed.
Rogue Trader update changes Solomorne
In the latest update for Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, players who own the Lex Imperialis DLC are now able to get their hands on Solomorne Anthar earlier. As of update 1.4.1, the story now makes it so that the Arbites officer can now be recruited at the very start of Act 2, giving you a powerful new ally around the same time you’ll unlock Kibellah.
Solomorne’s inclusion in the base game is also made a bit smoother. The Arbites officer now has additional dialogue, allowing him to speak up during key scenes when the Rogue Trader is doing something he agrees or disagrees with.
This dialogue expansion also has a knock-on effect with other characters as previous party members now have more to say in the DLC new arras. Everything is more tightly woven together than it was when the expansion launched.
Additionally, Owlcat has made other changes to the DLC, including allowing players to grab The Heartless escort ship earlier than before. To make sure that this change doesn’t break the game’s story, Owlcat has made some “narrative adjustments” to the game to make everything much smoother.
Lex Imperialis launched with a “mixed reception” on steam, and hopefully this new update will improve reception over time. Alongside the story changes, Owlcat has also buffed Solomorne’s Cyber Mastiff and increased the power of fire weapons which were already pretty damn powerful.
