Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40K is a tabletop game designed around incredibly detailed miniatures, although some units really stretch that definition. While we may have fun painting and playing with our little fellas from the grim dark sci-fi series, one fan has gone above and beyond by creating a life-sized Primaris Space Marine for their living room.

Warhammer influencer TheImperialSaint, aka Doris, spent 105 days of constant 3D printing to create a life-sized Space Marine statue complete with a 7-foot chainsword for their house. While not sanded, primed and painted (yet), the impressive plastic statue is a truly impressive feat.

Shared across social media, TheImperialSaint showed off their absolutely massive creation. Sitting at 8-foot-five, the statue is made of 560 blocks that took four-and-a-half hours to print resulting in 2,520 hours of non-stop printing.

“I still have to go through the number of [filament] spools, but I can say with confidence, it’s likely over 100 on the low end,” the Warhammer 40K fan explained. “The entire space marine can be taken apart for storing or moving… Really the only thing left is to start sanding, filling, priming and then painting. Which.. the painting part is the one I am most nervous about.”

In a YouTube video, the creator showed the Space Marine’s huge construction with its numerous connected pieces that can be taken apart for moving and, importantly at this stage, painting.

“Since this Space Marine stands at eight-and-a-half feet tall, the ladder is a must,” the creator explained. “It’s a bit time consuming [to disassemble] because it’s not just plastic. It also has hardware inside certain areas so pieces can connect and not fall apart. But the real struggle is tryign to remove this massive torso.”

Alongside the massive Space Marine, The Imperial Saint is also making another life-sized Warhammer 40K creation: a Battle Sister. Unfinished at the time of writing, the Warhammer 40K fan certainly has a lot of work on their hands to actually finish these up.

In other news, 3D printing and cosplay aficionado Galactic Armory recently received a Cease and Desist from Games Workshop following the release of the Lieutenant Titus’ Mark X Helmet. Additionally, read about the plans for Space Marine 3, the next game from developer Saber Interactive.
