Chucklefish has announced that Wargroove will receive an all-new DLC update that comes with a new co-op campaign, three new commanders, new editor tools, and a bunch of balance adjustments.

Wargroove is a pixel-perfect, turn-based tactics game inspired by Advance Wars. Each unique commander has their own interpretation of classic units like soldier, archer, mage, trebuchet and more. The commander’s Groove is charged up over the course of a game and once powered up will unleash a devastating effect upon the battlefield. An editor tool lets players create their own maps, cutscenes and campaigns to share online, and local and online multiplayer skirmishes are customisable across competitive and co-op modes.

The Wargroove: Double Trouble DLC will be free to all players across all platforms. It will add a new co-op campaign that is playable with local and online friends, but is also available as a solo experience too. Two new units — thieves and riflemen — will be coming to the game, as well as new arcade missions and public and private multiplayer lobbies. There will also be three new commanders with their own unique attributes. These are mighty Wulfar, twins Errol and Orla, and Vesper, though the last of these characters seems to be a tricksy one who may feature in the new storyline.

New editor tools are going to be added that will allow for in-depth customisation of the maps, as well as a new biome: Volcano. On top of that, balance adjustments to a number of units and Commanders are coming which will make for more satisfying and evened up gameplay experiences.

The Wargroove: Double Trouble DLC is currently in its final development stretch and Chucklefish will publish its release date soon. Wargroove is out now for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One.
