In a recent interview with Polygon, Wargaming CEO Victor Kislyi said ‘we realise World of Tanks can last forever,’ and the approach the studio needs to take is that they’re making World of Tanks ‘to be built like the pyramids, for centuries or millennia.’

Kislyi spoke of how the developer was arrogant three years ago and thought they knew what was best for their player base, without taking in feedback. The community let them know they weren’t happy with changes made in the Rubicon update from two years ago, but Kislyi added that since the team listened to their players, World of Tanks has gotten better.

‘I play every day under my real name. So, this is my temperature check. I play for one hour and I get 20 messages from people. They used to be swearing and complaining. Two years ago. One year ago. Now, they’re mostly thank yous.’

Even though there is World of Warships and World of Warplanes, there’s no question that World of Tanks remains Wargaming’s crowning jewel, and by the sounds of it, will be for years to come.
