Digital Extremes has announced that sci-fi shooter Warframe is heading to the Nintendo Switch.
The popular free-to-play title was previously released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and has notched up an impressive 38 million players worldwide since its open beta back in 2013.
Panic Button is heading up the Switch version of Warframe, although right now it's not known when the game will see a release. Still, it's good news for Switch owners, as the studio has been responsible for bringing a number of major titles to Ninty's hybrid powerhouse, such as Doom and Rocket League.
Despite a slow start, Warframe has managed to attract a dedicated fan base thanks to Digital Extremes' continued support for the shooter. In fact, it remains one of the most popular titles on Steam next to the likes of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
I'm pretty familiar with Warframe, although only for the fact that my mate has spent hundreds of pounds on microtransactions with absolutely no regrets. Kind of like I did with War Thunder, come to think of it…
