Starting from today registrations are being taken to enter the first stages of the Xbox Live Halo 2 Championship – entries will be accepted until the 20th of March, so you don’t have that long to get things sorted. Registration instructions can be found here. So don’t say we never do anything for you.

The eight top UK players registered on the Rumble Pit leaderboard will duke it out on Saturday the 9th of April to decide who is numero uno in this fair Kingdom (that is United). The winner of this tournament will receive a Samsung digital camcorder, apparently worth “over £400” and a half sized Master Chief statue – though it is described as being a “money can’t buy” item, it is still given a valuation of £350ish. The champ will also be awarded a Halo 2 Championship Plaque and (probably best of all) a commemorative Halo 2 T Shirt. Classy.

After being awarded their title and prizes, the king of the country will have a chance of being involved in the Xbox Live Halo 2 Worldwide Finals, which are also taking place in April.

Terms and conditions of the Championship can be found here, so there’s no excuses for cheating.
