Update: The PS4 Pro update will now launch in mid-December and is not part of the latest game game patch.

Original report: The first PES 2017 title update – 1.02 – will release at the end of October, with a second – 1.03 – to follow at the end of November, Konami has announced.

1.02 will introduce improved facial likenesses for 39 players who Konami has judged to have excelled in the early part of the new season. This will include Wissam Ben Yedder, Mario Lemina, Aymeric Laporte, Victor Wanyama and Denis Suarez.

The October update will also update pitch side hoardings and add new official boot styles.

1.03 update will introduce a 4K resolution mode running at 60 frames per second for PS4 Pro users. We’re trying to clarify if this is native 4K or using the much discussed chequerboard rendering technique.

The November update will also offer a range of new content, including elements made possible thanks to partnerships with Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund. Liverpool’s Anfield stadium – complete with new stand – will be added to PES 2017’s roster, whilst Borussia Dortmund’s Iduna Park ground will also be recreated for use in the game. Both teams will also have squad likenesses recreated in the game.
