360 Gamer claims that between 1500 and 2500 UK 360s are being sent to repair centres every single day. Taking into account approximate UK sales and other possible factors like repair centres potentially being closed at weekends, this statistic still indicates that between 50% and 120% of all UK consoles have been returned – a statistic that doesn’t seem to add up.

There is undeniably a worryingly high number of faults in Xbox 360s, but previous, unsubstantiated figures have indicated something more like 5% of machines have been faulty. Though stories have circulated before that some owners have had to return their consoles a number of times, the figure still seems unfeasibly high.

The news story, based on information from one customer’s claims, also suggests Microsoft is relying on out-of-country repair centres, despite telling customers otherwise.

At the time of writing Microsoft was unavailable to comment, and 360-Gamer.com is offline.
