Despite its anti-violence stance, which left its platforms feeling very family friendly, some of the most violent games of the last generation debuted on Nintendo’s GameCube. Titles such as Resident Evil 4, Eternal Darkness and the psychotic Killer7 were all full of adult themes – certainly not family friendly.

The Wii was released with a barrage of titles, most of which could be classed as family friendly games – Red Steel and Call of Duty 3 as the exceptions. It’s now been revealed that Vivendi Games’ Scarface is to expand the console’s adult themed offerings.

The cover of N-Gamer magazine features a full page shot of Tony Montana and poses the question; “is this the closest thing to Grand Theft Auto on Wii?“

Inside the magazine it’s revealed that the Wii game will require players to use the Wii Remote like a gun, targeting enemies with the aid of an aiming reticule. The magazine also says that the Wii Remote will be used for melee combat with the game’s chainsaw weapon. For added realism of in-game maiming the sound of the chainsaw will be heard through the Wii Remote speaker.

The magazine doesn’t indicate when the game will be released and Vivendi say more info is coming soon.
