V8: Arcade developer Isopod Labs has announced the game has been released to Microsoft for what it hopes to be the ‘final’ submission. Given the time it takes for titles to pass through the Microsoft certification process the promising XBLA title could be ready for release in around two months.

V8: Arcade is a re-imagining of the late ’90s car combat title Vigilante 8 and promises to feature split-screen multiplayer gaming for up to four-players, plus all-new online support over Xbox LIVE where up to eight players can battle it out.

The game will also include five newly designed interactive arenas, eight highly varied ’70s vehicles (10,000+ polygons each), unique special weapons, six standard weapon pick-ups with three advanced attacks each, user customisable paint jobs, voice support, leaderboards, Achievements and more.
