Joe Madureira has left Darksiders creator Vigil Games, the studio he founded back in 2005, reports GameSpot.

News of Madureira’s departure was posted on his Facebook page.

“I’m afraid the time has come for me to move on to new adventures,” explained the Vigil Games co-founder and creative director. “I could not be more proud of what we achieved, or the awesome people who helped build up this studio. I can safely say Vigil’s future is in very good hands, so expect only awesomeness down the road. This feels surreal…I miss the place already.”

Expect to hear about what Madureira is up to next in the coming months.

Madureira founded Vigil with David Adams, Marvin Donald, and Ryan Stefanelli, having previously worked for 20 years at Marvel.
