Sony executive deputy president Kazuo Hirai revealed that a few people have cancelled their PSN accounts since the service returned two days ago – but that it’s only a “very small percentage”
The actual amount of users cancelling their PlayStation Network accounts was unspecified.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Hirai asserted that it was far too soon to draw any conclusions from this and further assured customers that Sony has “done everything possible and reasonable to make sure that a system is secure from attack.”
The article states that, if a hacker were to get into the system, there are further safeguards in place to stop users’ personal information being accessed. We’re imagining a self-destruct mechanism similar to something from Mission Impossible.
PlayStation Network returned in the UK on Sunday, though PlayStation Store services are still absent – they are expected to return by the end of May.
