Paradox has allowed the next playable race of upcoming RPG Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 to step out of the mists in a new video, and it's the turn of the Venture clan.

In case you're not familar, the Venture are considered the upper classes of vampire society, often taking positions of power. They're a bit pompous about it, as probably expected, and see themselves as above most of the other clans.

In game, this means they have access to Domination powers, including the Mesmerise ability that allows you to hypnotise a singular NPC to put them in a trance that renders them entirely immobile and helpless. When this is paired with the Command power, they can then be controlled to do your bidding, including directing them to move and attack targets at your whim.

The Fortitude power set, as you probably expect from the name, focuses on defensive abilities. Asorb will let a vampire deflect all attacks on them that they can see. This goes even further with Personal Armour, that can be upgraded to not only deflect all attacks, including those you don't see, but also cause the attacker to recoil or stagger as punishment for attempting to hit you. (Although this does result in a Masquerade Violation if witnessed.)

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is expected for a 2020 release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Could it potentially revive the vampire genre? Josh has some thoughts on that.
