Jay Pinkerton, the co-writer of brilliant brain-teaser Portal 2, has returned to developer Valve after leaving the company just last year.
Valve had seen a number of major players depart in 2017, including fellow Portal 2 scribes Erik Wolpaw and Chet Faliszek, leading many to wonder if the studio was stepping away from narrative-driven games.
However, a spokesperson has now confirmed (via PC Gamer) that Pinkerton has returned to the Half-Life developer, after previously being spotted over the weekend on the company's staff page.
Pinkerton has worked on a number of popular games at Valve over the years, including Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, as well as being involved with the Team Fortress 2 comics. Quite what he's up to now is anyone's guess, but hopefully it means more Portal.
What's that? You haven't played Portal 2, you say? You havin' a giraffe, mate? Better fix that fast then, 'cos you're missing out.
