During Sony’s pre-E3 press conference in May, Epic Games’ Tim Sweeney came on stage and gave a live tech demo of an Unreal Engine 3 shooter running on some form of PlayStation 3 hardware. The shooter on show looked very much like Unreal Tournament 2007, but neither Sony nor Epic would confirm that the game was heading to the PlayStation 3.
Well, it would appear the speculation is now over. The latest issue of US magazine ‘PlayStation Magazine’ has revealed that Unreal Tournament 2007 will be coming to the PlayStation 3. Furthermore, the game is also scheduled to appear at the console’s launch, which is currently expected as early as spring 2006, although nothing official has been announced. The game is also set for release on PC and potentially the Xbox 360, with Epic’s engine running quite comfortably on Microsoft’s new console.
