In a very informative interview with Epic Games, conducted by GamesIndustry.biz, Epic Games’s vice president, Mark Rein, hinted at Unreal possibly appearing on the PSP. According to Rein, Epic would “love to see it – so it’s just really a matter of wait and see.” He went on to suggest that such a title might have to be handled by an outside development house.

The interview also talked about Next-Generation game development, with Rein claming that costs should only be 50 per cent more than current game development. However, he did point out that it is only with tools like the Unreal 3 Engine that this will be possible. The Unreal 3 Engine allows tasks that had previously been predominantly programmer based to be given to artists, freeing programmers up to work on complex tasks such as game AI.
