Microsoft has announced that all Xbox LIVE members (Gold and Silver) are eligible for a free full version of the Xbox LIVE Arcade title Undertow for the period Wednesday, January 23 at 10am GMT to Monday, January 28 at 8am GMT.
The free game comes in response to problems with the Xbox LIVE service, particularly over the Christmas period when a large increase in Xbox LIVE users was experienced. As a way of apologising for the problems and thanking users of its service Microsoft announced that all Xbox LIVE users from around the world would have access to a game free of charge.
Undertow from Chair Entertainment Group is, according to Microsoft, one of the highest-rated games available on Xbox LIVE Arcade (something we happen to agree with) and offers aquatic shooting action for 1-16 players. Although available to all LIVE Arcade users, only those with a Gold account will be able to use the game’s online multiplayer modes. Undertow is usually available for 800 Microsoft Points.
