Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is the first game in the PlayStation exclusive series to not feature hero Nathan Drake. Writer and creative director Shaun Escayg said ‘I wouldn’t say this is the end’ when asked if the aforementioned title will be Uncharted’s swansong.

‘This thieving world is huge. There’s so many characters,’ Escayg told Eurogamer in an interview at E3 last week. He added that developer Naughty Dog looked at several characters for this spin-off, saying ‘we were exploring Sullivan, we were exploring Cutter, and pairing each other up, thinking what would be right, what would have conflict, growth, something new, something fresh.’

Escayg claimed that Chloe ‘was the one that kept jumping out,’ before stating that ‘But to say the Uncharted world is done… I doubt that highly.’

It’ll be interesting to see how Uncharted: The Lost Legacy differs, if at all, to Uncharted 4. There won’t be a wise-cracking mass murderer with a Hollywood smile, at the very least.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is out on PlayStation 4 on August 22.
