David O. Russell has left the Uncharted movie project, according to a report on Variety. O. Russell is said to have had creative differences with Sony.

Speaking earlier in the year O. Russell revealed how he was interested in casting the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Amy Adams, Mark Wahlberg, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. Given the project will now have a new director, it’s likely casting will be entirely different.

The Uncharted movie had gained some respectability due to O. Russell’s attachment to the project. Has the films reputation been sullied following the director’s departure?
