London’s FIFA Interactive World Cup regional winner has been crowned. Pail, 22, of Croydon, beat all in his path at the event, held at Earls Court. Unlucky runner up was Simon Pike, 15 of Swansea, just missing out on a place at the grand final in Zurich.

The Finals will be held on December 19th 2004, and Paul seemed very excited about making it that far.

“This match was as thrilling as a real FIFA World Cup match with real national teams,” said Paul. “The experience as a whole exceeded all my expectations. It was great to meet one of my football idols, Darius Vassell, and have brilliant DJ’s like Tim Westwood, spin some records while I battled my way through the rounds. The whole experience was so cool and I’m honoured to represent the UK in the FIFA Interactive World Cup Finals in Zurich.”

The tournament combines both online and off-line play on EAs FIFA Football 2005 on Xbox and Xbox Live. Next week the tournament moves to Seoul, on its continuing journey to Zurich 2004. For more information on the tournament you can check out the official web site.
