EA’s chart dominance continues with its third straight new entry at the top. This week FIFA 06 tops the pack with Burnout Revenge dropping to No.2. The PS2 version of FIFA 06 is the fastest selling football game and the fifth fastest selling game ever in the UK. The Xbox exclusive title Far Cry Instincts makes a commendable entry at No.3, with Rome: Total War – Barbarian Invasion at No.4 and Conflict: Global Storm at No.5.
Other new entries this week are Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks at No.10, Advance Wars Dual Strike No.12, Sonic Gems Collection No.15 (Budget title so does not appear on the full price chart) and Sniper Elite No.23. The Nintendo DS’s second highest new entry Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow couldn’t even manage a top forty place in the all formats chart.
The autumn/winter release frenzy continues this week with a number of high profile titles for all platforms making their way to retail: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06, Spartan: Total Warrior, NBA Live 06, Darkwatch, Brothers In Arms: Earned in Blood, Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes, Black & White 2, Nintendogs and Geist. Will Nintendogs have enough cuteness to beat off opposition in the form of Tiger Woods, Black & White 2 and Spartan or will FIFA tighten its hold at the top? Find out next week.
