With a subscriber base of more than eight million worldwide, it comes as no surprise to see the World of Warcraft expansion, The Burning Crusade, at the top of the chart.

The game launched on Tuesday, giving it a five day run at the chart, and became the second fastest selling PC game ever in the UK, falling just 1,000 units shy of Championship Manager 04’s record set back in 2003.

The Burning Crusade dominates the PC software sales this week, accounting for 30% of all sales on the platform. Its release also spurns new sales of World of Warcraft, which re-enters the chart at No.28. Last week’s No.1, Lost Planet, drops one place to No.2, but still manages to outsell WarioWare: Smooth Moves at No.3 by more than 2 to 1.

With the Snooker Masters reaching its final stages, SEGA’s World Snooker Championship 2007 makes an eleven place leap and finds itself at No.6. New stock helps Wii Play jump from No.19 to No.11, and a selection of highly promoted budget titles also enter the To 40.

The chart is unlikely to change much next week, with only Actionloop and StarFox Command on the DS and Rocky Balboa on the PSP to tempt gamers.
