EA’s The Sims franchise made a triumphant return to the top of the UK Video chart this week, with the release of The Sims 3. On its way to the top the game also recorded the fourth biggest UK opening week ever for a PC title, only bettered by WoW Burning Crusade, WoW Lich King and Championship Manager 4.

THQ’s Red Faction: Guerrilla is new at No.2, while publisher stable mate UFC 2009 drops two places to No.3. EA Sports Active moves down one place to No.4, followed by Wii Fit at No.5. inFamous is also down a place to No.6, Pokemon Platinum drops five places to No.7, GH: Metallica is down to No.8, Virtua Tennis 2009 is at No.9 and Warner’s Terminator Salvation climbs to No.10.

The week’s other new entries include Fuel at No.12, Sacred 2 at No.15, Star Ocean: The Last Hope at No.18, Mystery Stories at No.20 and Jillian Michael’s Fitness Ultimatum on Wii at No.27.

Friday’s new releases include EA’s Wii MotionPlus enabled Grand Slam Tennis, Activision’s superhuman sandbox Prototype, and LucasArts’ Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings.
