Chart Track reports that Resident Evil 5 has made it two weeks at the top of the All Formats Chart, despite a 52 per cent drop in sales over its launch week.
Nintendo’s Wii Fit and Professor Layton are at No.2 and No.3 respectively, while THQ’s WWE Legends of WrestleMania is new at No.4 – an even split across PS3 and Xbox 360, although the PS3 version just edged it. Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s HAWX also continues to sell well at No.5.
Friday also saw the release of Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on Nintendo DS. The highly acclaimed first GTA game on DS debuted at No.6 in the chart, but only managed to sell around half the launch week units of the PSP’s GTA: Vice City Stories.
Elsewhere, a retailer promotion on Street Fighter IV saw sales rise 48 per cent, enough to see the game climb back into the Top 10 at No.7.
The week’s other new releases that failed to make an impression on the Top 10 included SingStar Queen at No.22, Scrabble Interactive: 2009 Edition at No.27 and SEGA’s MadWorld for Wii at No.34.
New releases hoping to break into the chart next week include Afro Samurai, Red Alert 3 on PS3, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, Monsters vs Aliens, PES 2009 Wii, Stormrise and Wheelman.
