GfK Chart Track reports that EA’s Medal of Honor has entered the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart at No.1.

EA’s franchise reboot claimed the prized chart top spot despite a mixed reception from critics, but it seems gamers can’t get enough first-person shooting – even with Black Ops only a few weeks off.

FIFA 11 has to settle for second place, but did outpace first week sales of Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2 – the first game dropped only three places to No.12.

Wii Party was a big mover, up from No.10 to No.4, while last week’s new releases Castlevania and Enslaved drop to No.10 and No.11, respectively. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is new at No.9.

After some negative press and generally lower than hoped review scores, EA will be pleased to see its Medal of Honor reboot sitting at the top of the UK video game chart.

Sticking around at the top for a second week, though, will be a difficult task. Friday sees the release of Vanquish, MMA, Professor Layton and the Lost Future and Fallout: New Vegas, the latter in particular hoping to build on the success of Fallout 3.
