Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games pole vaults itself back to the top of the All Formats Top 40 thanks to renewed stock. The game sold more than twice as much as the next title on an individual format.

Activision’s Call of Duty 4 slides one place to No.2 and is followed by The Simpsons Game at No.3, Brain Training at No.4 and More Brain Training at No.5. Then comes Assassin’s Creed, FIFA 08, Super Mario Galaxy, Guitar Hero III and Wii Play – itself up a whopping 26 places thanks to renewed Wii stock.

SEGA’s Ghost Squad which makes the best use yet of the Wii Zapper is a new entry at No.20 and is joined by another Wii title in Capcom’s Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure at No.25. Despite success from two of its Wii titles this week SEGA’s newly released NiGHTS for Wii fails to make the Top 40, charting at a lowly No.30 in the Wii only chart.

It’s easy to see which game will be challenging at the top next week, with EA’s Burnout Paradise on PS3 and Xbox 360 being the first blockbuster release of the year.
