Unstoppable!

In a week lacking any big releases the chart shows very little sign of change. It’s the same story at the top, with GTA: Liberty City Stories making it five weeks at No.1, and showing no real signs of losing its lofty perch. Although there were no new entries in the top 20, THQ’s movie tie-in Cars made a massive leap from No.16 all the way into second place, mainly thanks to increased advertising for the movie which finally goes on release later this week. It’ll be interesting to see if it can topple GTA in next week’s chart.

It was also a good week for the Pirates of the Caribbean games, with The legend of Jack Sparrow taking a six place leap to No.4, with its handheld rival one place below at No.5. The performance of the new releases was, as expected, not great, with Miami Vice only managing No.11 in the PSP chart, and Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga an equally non-threatening entry at No.21 in the PS2 chart.

Next week expect Cars and the Pirates titles to continue to push strongly, along with new entries in the guise of Formula One 06, Field Commander, CivCity: Rome, and Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: Warlords.
