SEGA’s Football Manager 2007 becomes the third fastest-selling PC game in the UK, behind its predecessors Football Manager 2006 and Championship Manager 4 (back in the day when SI made the game). FIFA drops one place to No.2 and prepares for impact, with Pro Evolution Soccer 6 arriving in stores this week.

EA has two new entries this week, with The Sims 2: Pets at No.3 and Battlefield 2142 at No.7, making a total of three top ten new entries for the PC brigade. Together with Football Manager 2007, the three titles account for 58% of Full Price PC sales this week.

Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell Double Agent becomes the 6th fastest selling Xbox 360 title, but only manages to place at No.5 in the All Formats Chart, but should be lifted by its release on current-gen platforms this week. Last week’s new entry at No.2, Scarface, slips two place to No.4, but sees a sales increase of 42%.

The only Top Forty new entry not to make it inside the top ten this week is THQ’s Destroy all Humans 2, only managing a mediocre start at No.21.

New releases are still coming thick and fast, and this week sees the battle of the football games really hotting up with the release of Pro Evolution Soccer 6. However, FIFA 07 won’t go down without a fight and will be looking to the Xbox 360 version for support. This week also sees the release of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 for the Xbox 360, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, F.E.A.R: Extraction Point Expansion Pack, Family Guy, Guild Wars: Nightfall, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, and Splinter Cell Double Agent for current-gen consoles – that’s a lot of games.
