Sports Interactive’s Football Manager 2011 has secured SEGA its second No.1 game this year, fending off the likes of FIFA 11 and Fable III.
Football Manger 2011 becomes only the second PC exclusive to reach the top of the All Formats chart this year – the other being Blizzard’s StarCraft II.
FIFA 11 moves up one place to No.2, Fable III takes a 64 per cent sales fall and slips to No.3, Just Dance 2 is at No.4 and Professor Layton and the Lost Future climbs three places to No.5. New Super Mario Bros. Wii makes a surge back into the Top 10 at No.6 thanks to bundling with the 25th Anniversary Red Nintendo Wii, Fallout: New Vegas slumps to No.7, Medal of Honor begins to feel the strain at No.8 and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed doesn’t look like matching the success of its predecessor, slipping four places to No.9.
Activision’s new Bond video games failed to make the Top 10, GoldenEye 007 new at No.13, while Blood Stone managed only 18th position.

The James Bond double act missing out on Top 10 places has to be a disappointment for Activision, especially given the marketing each title has received. While the Wii game might continue to bring in new sales, we don’t hold much hope for Blood Stone; Black Ops and then Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood are likely to snuff out any embers of life left in the secret agent romp.
There’s no second-week recovery for Rock Band 3, with the game dropping out of the Top 40 after a disappointing start at No.26. Castlevania Lords of Shadow also looks to have run out of steam, slumping 22 places to No.40 after last week’s price promotion revival.
Next week will see Call of Duty: Black Ops claim the No.1 spot, but we should also see a strong debut for Kinect – will its launch line-up perform better than the smattering of chart entries achieved by PS Move software?
