Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII-2 has entered the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart at No.1, following in the footsteps of Final Fantasy XIII which earned the biggest launch week for A Final Fantasy game in the UK back in week 10, 2010.

The game sold better on PlayStation 3, accounting for 54 per cent of total copies shifted.

Konami must also be pleased with the performance of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, new at No.2. In this case it was the Xbox 360 which came out on top, albeit with a marginal advantage at 51 per cent.

Battlefield 3 climbs several places to No.3, FIFA 12 slides to No.4 and Namco Bandai’s SoulCalibur V is the third new release in the top five – 60 per cent of sales on Xbox 360.

Elsewhere, Resident Evil Revelations for 3DS takes a huge hit and slumps from No.6 to No.19.
