With the World Cup still around a month away, FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 from EA is showing no signs of relinquishing the top spot. The multi-format title saw a 38% increase in sales over the previous week, and was too strong for the likes of Tomb Raider: Legend and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (moving up from No.11 to No.3 following the release of the PC version.)

The only other new entry of note comes from Metroid Prime: Hunters on the Nintendo DS. The sci-fi shooter enters the chart at No.6, and together with Animal Crossing: Wild World (No.5) makes an impressive showing for the DS.

With all the E3 shenanigans of the last week, this chart update comes to you around a week late. In fact, the next chart update will be tomorrow, so here’s a quick run-down of the games expected to make an impression. Whilst nothing looks likely to topple FIFA World Cup, chart entries are likely from Rumble Roses XX on the Xbox 360, plus another boost to Championship Manager 2006 with the release of the Xbox version. Monster Hunter: Freedom and Me and My Katamari, both on the PSP, also have an outside shot at chart success, but will likely debut outside the top 20.
