FIFA finally knocks Lara from the top spot

Despite only managing to top one individual platform chart (Xbox 360), as a combined force across all platforms, FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 has managed to outsell Tomb Raider: Legend to top the all format chart. Football Manager 2006 has made an end of season surge, notching up a 5% increase in sales and moving up three places to third.

The only other new entry into the top ten is Guild Wars: Factions at No.7. The non-subscription online RPG was the top selling PC title last week, and looks set to follow in the success of the first Guild Wars title. Trauma Center: Under The Knife on the DS manages to slice open a place in the chart, albeit the somewhat low position of No.33.

This week’s big new releases include Metroid Prime: Hunters on the DS, and the PC release of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. Given the poor sales of We Love Katamari on the PlayStation 2, Me and My Katamari on the PSP isn’t expected to enter high up in the chart.
