FIFA 12 has earned a second week at the top of the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart, claiming the 13th highest weekly sales ever recorded – despite a massive 68 per cent unit drop.

This means id Software’s Bethesda published RAGE must settle for second place – 58 per cent of sales on Xbox 360, 32 per cent on PS3 and the remainder of retail sales on PC.

Namco Bandai’s Dark Souls makes a surprisingly strong debut at No.3 with the PS3 version accounting for 58 per cent of sales. Gears of War 3 drops 65 per cent to No.4, followed by F1 2011, Zumba Fitness, Dead Island and Deus Ex, LEGO Pirates and Resistance 3.

The week’s third new release is 2K Sports’ NBA 2K12 at No.12, seven places higher than 2K11 managed.

With FIFA 12 taking a second week at the top, there’s no chart triumph for RAGE and Dark Souls, but don’t forget that EA’s football title recorded the 13th highest weekly total, meaning second and third place could still have achieved strong unit sales.

Forza 4 and PES 2012 are this week’s major releases, but can either throw FIFA 12 off the top of the chart? Also look out for Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, Just Dance 3 and Spider-Man: Edge Of Time – of these Just Dance 3 is best placed to challenge at the top.
