GkK ChartTrack reports that FIFA 11 has become the third biggest video game launch in the UK, with sales up 21 per cent over FIFA 10.

The game sits behind Modern Warfare 2 and GTA 4 in the launch week chart. 96 per cent of the game’s week one total was accumulated by the PS3 and Xbox 360, with the latter platform doing slightly better.

If you’re yet to pick up FIFA, Amazon.co.uk remains the cheapest place to buy online.

The release of FIFA 11 knocked F1 2010 down one place to No.2, Dead Rising 2 holds at No.3, while Halo: Reach slipped to No.4, and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock climbed to No.5.

The Ryder Cup hype gave Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 a 71 per cent sales boost and lifted the title to No.6, while Sports Champions dropped two places to No.7.

The question now on everyone’s lips is whether or not Konami’s PES 2011 can topple FIFA this time next week. PES will also have Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Enslaved to contend with.
