Chart Track reports that FIFA 09 has claimed the first No.1 of 2009, despite a 41 per cent drop in sales.
EA’s hugely popular football title replaces Activision’s Call of Duty: World at War, itself down 50 per cent, but some 5,000 units ahead of EA’s Need for Speed: Undercover which stays firms at No.3.
Activision Blizzard has three titles inside the Top 10, with Guitar Hero: World Tour (No.4) and Quantum of Solace (No.9) joining CoD. Mario & Sonic climbs to No.5, Wii Play is at No.6, Far Cry 2 is at No.8, Mario Kart Wii falls to No.9 and Sonic Unleashed remains at No.10.
Every title inside the Top 40 saw a sales drop, except Nintendo’s 100 Classic Book Collection which breaks into the Top 40 for the first time at No.27.
