Despite the bookmakers putting Need for Speed Carbon as the frontrunner for the Christmas No.1, it’s FIFA 07 (4/1 for Xmas No.1) that holds onto the top spot this week. Carbon follows at No.2 and moving up to No.3 is Activision’s Call of Duty 3 – sales up 57%. Pro Evolution Soccer 6 climbs one place to No.4 thanks to the PSP release.

On the whole it’s been a great week for the top ten, with all but Gears of War seeing a sales boost over last week. Gears drops three places to No.6 with sales down by 16%.

The only new entry to make the Top 40 is Rainbow Six: Vegas from Ubisoft, which debuts at No.10. High climbers include Happy Feet, which has no doubt been boosted by movie promotion, now at No.18, and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire: Party Edition from Eidos at No.25.

Next week expect the Wii’s launch to shake up the chart, with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess expected to perform well. Wii Play, by virtue of the bundled remote, is also likely to chart well. Rayman Ravin Rabbids should benefit from its multi-format release, and expect a sales boost for plenty of other multi-format titles thanks to the release of a Wii version.
