F1 2010 has raced to the top of the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart, dumping Microsoft’s Halo: Reach down a place to No.2.

F1 2010 is the first Formula One game to reach No.1 since Sony’s Formula One 2001 over nine years ago. This iteration sold more than ten times the total of the 2001 game. The game outsold the combined figure of Halo: Reach and Dead Rising 2.

After a huge week one total – reported to be in the region of 500,000 units – Halo: Reach sales took an 80 per cent dive, but still managed to hold off Capcom’s Dead Rising 2 which debuted at No.3.

Sid Meier’s Civilization V from 2K is new at No.4, while PS Move title Sports Champions slips to No.5 with a respectable 12 per cent dip in sales. Activision’s Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is a casualty of the busy release week, only managing to place at No.6.

Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is down to No.7 despite a 26 per cent sales increase, Mafia II dropped five places to No.8, Toy Story 3 took a tumble to N0.9 and Final Fantasy XIV is new at No.10.

F1 2010’s stay at the top is certain to be short-lived; EA’s FIFA 11 hits stores on Friday and is odds on to take over at No.1.
