Activision’s movie licensed Spider-Man 3 video game has stormed to the top of the All Formats video game chart in its first week on releases. The game has proven most popular on Xbox 360 with the console accounting for 45% of total sales. The PlayStation 2 took 40%, Wii 10%, DS 4% and PC a paltry 1%.

God of War II slips to No.3 falling two places thanks to Spider-Man 3 and increased sales of Wii Play (thanks to increased Wii stock). SingStar Pop Hits is also up a few places to No.4 while fellow casual gamer favourite Buzz! The Mega Quiz breaks into the Top 10 at No.6.

The chart’s second highest new entry is Final Fantasy III which has placed at No.11, but failed to outsell Pokemon Ranger, despite it slipping to from No.5 to No.10. Codemasters’ Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar is the week’s biggest loser, dropping 15 places to No.17.

New releases to look out for this Friday include Command & Conquer 3 for Xbox 360, Driver 76 for PSP, Cooking Mama Wii and Picross for Nintendo DS.
