With the movie doing well, Cars retains the top spot.

With the summer holidays in full swing and parents all over the UK going mad, it’s no surprise that Cars the video game is once again at the top of the chart. The entertaining racing title held off GTA: Liberty City Stories, which seems set for an extended stay in the chart.

New entries were few and far between, with SingStar Anthems being the only game of note making an impact on the top twenty – the budget price collection of songs entering at No. 20. Outside of the top twenty, THQ’s Juiced Eliminator for the PSP is the only new(ish) game to enter this week’s chart, making a rather less than brilliant entrance at No. 38 after its second week on release.

New releases this Friday include the PC space combat title Darkstar One, and not much else. Expect next week’s chart to look largely similar.
