GfK ChartTrack reports that 2K’s BioShock 2 has entered the All Formats All Prices UK video game chart at No.1, becoming the biggest release of the year so far.

BioShock 2 becomes 2K’s first No.1 since the release of GTA 4 back in April 2008. Ubisoft’s Just Dance sticks at No.2, followed by FIFA 10 which climbed to No.3 thanks to retailer promotions. Modern Warfare 2 slips to No.4, while Nintendo claims places five to seven with Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros. And Wii Fit Plus.

Last week’s No.1, Mass Effect 2, slips to No.8 after sales fell 58 per cent over its second week. EA’s Dante’s Inferno is also down, sliding five places to No.9. SEGA’s Bayonetta is the week’s big mover with price promotions helping the game up from No.38 to No.10.

SEGA’s Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll failed to capture much of an audience on Wii, charting at No.19 in the Wii only chart.

This Friday’s only release likely to make any inroads into the Top 10 is SEGA’s Aliens vs Predator, although a poorly received multiplayer demo hasn’t helped its chances.
