Activision Blizzard has claimed its first UK Video Game Chart No.1 since Call of Duty: Ghosts back in December 2013 with the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
The video game sequel managed to beat the No.2 debut of the first game, but actually sold five per cent fewer units. The missing Xbox One retail version may have impacted sales.
Titanfall dropped 17 per cent to No.2, followed by FIFA 14 and 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
Call of Duty: Ghosts takes fifth, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition holds at No.6, and Child of Light is new at No.9 – impressive for a limited retail release.
Dark Souls 2 benefited from the retail PC release, jumping four places to No.14.
Elsewhere Nintendo’s Mario Golf: World Tour could only manage to chart at No.22.
