New game announcements at this year’s E3 have been considerably fewer than in previous years, but Ubisoft has announced a brand new motorbike racer for the Wii. Nitrobike will be released later this year and sees players riding rocket-propelled motorbikes.

As you can probably guess from the premise and title, Nitrobike is an arcade racer, and appears to be similar in style to Nintendo’s own Excite Truck. As well as single-player racing and time trials, the game will feature single-system multiplayer and online play.

Rather excitingly, Excitebike 64 developer Left Field Productions will be handling the game, so it seems to be in good hands. Look for more on Nitrobike over the coming months.
