Most applauded Ubisoft for its E3 media briefing; it had so much to get excited about, but for many, was missing one crucial thing: Splinter Cell. In an interview with the Ubi Blog at E3, CEO Yves Guillemot addressed the Sam Fisher-shaped elephant in the room.
‘We’re receiving lots of sketches and proposals around the brand, and we’re going to pick one up,’ Guillmot said when asked about a new Splinter Cell game. ‘I think you will be able to see something, but you will have to wait for that.’
Splinter Cell: Blacklist was the most recent entry in the series, coming out around four years ago, and while it had some issues, it was still a great game. But if you’re looking for more Fisher in the immediate future, it seems like you may be out of luck.
