Last week Ubisoft Montreal’s Jean-Francois Boivin, associate producer on the Assassin’s Creed franchise, told Eurogamer that he didn’t think there was going to be a new Assassin’s Creed game in 2011, noting he felt the franchise needed a “breather”.

It turns out that Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot might not share the same view. Speaking to investors last night, the CEO said: “The decision is not theirs.”

He concluded: “It would not be right to comment right now.”

That’s not confirmation of a new Assassin’s Creed in 2011, but it certainly leaves the door wide open.
