Over two million people have registered for the Call of Duty: Elite beta in less than two weeks, Activision has announced.

The news was delivered via Activision social media guru Dan Amrich’s blog.

Elite, a statistic and community layer for Call of Duty titles developed by Beachhead Studios, has an additional subscription option that will include a Call of Duty web series and access to DLC content.

The free service includes, amongst other features, the ability to upload theatre clips to YouTube, view heat maps, edit loadouts, join groups, and partake in the odd spot of clan tomfoolery.

During E3, VideoGamer.com learnt some of the ways Elite will integrate into Modern Warfare 3.

After using the service at Activision’s Modern Warfare 3 reveal in London last month I found myself intrigued. “I want to know more about the pricing before I’m ready to commit, but I’m impressed from what I’ve seen so far. If it doesn’t cost too much, I could definitely see myself subscribing,” I wrote when looking at what’s inside the package.

Call of Duty: Elite will launch officially alongside Modern Warfare 3 on November 8.
