At E3 People were stunned by Forza 4’s graphics, according to Turn 10’s game director Dan Greenawalt. The developer also reckons the Xbox 360 game will be finished in five weeks.

“We saw that at E3,” Greenawalt commented to CVG. “People are really stunned by what we’ve been able to achieve with an engine that shipped in the box twice previously.”

Greenawalt explained how the team managed to avoid the typical end of project crunch by “metering ourselves all the way along,” which he said is “really the unsung hero of games development”.

“Right now, we’re just heading into finalising the game ahead to certification, which is making sure we’re complying with [Microsoft’s rules] on the box. There’s about five or so weeks until we submit the finished game.”

Top Gear’s reasonably priced car will be in Forza 4. We also detailed Forza 4’s Autovista mode at E3 earlier in the year, which takes advantage of Kinect.

Forza 4 is due for release exclusively on Xbox 360 on October 14.
